Bold Bellarri Jewelry

In the latest issue of Modern Jewelry, there is a feature article about the work of jewelry designer, Bellarri, whose jewelry company is called by the same name, and is known for her bold use of colored gemstones. You'll also notice an usual cut to her stones. Some are sort of a bezel or rounded cut as opposed to a full faceted cut. And she loads up the color combinations

You can find out more about this jewelry artists as well as view some jewelry videos on her site:

Within each BELLARRI design you will find a delicate art form in which the blending of of colors and unique cuts of gemstones must intertwine in harmony. In viewing my collections it is important to recognize and appreciate the integrity of craftsmanship inherent in each creation.

Jewelry Mirror

Lori Greiner designs practical storage and that includes jewelry storage. One of her latest masterpieces is this Safekeeper Dressing Mirror and Jewelry Cabinet. Close it and you have a full-length mirror. Open it and you can store loads of jewelry:

This beautiful full length mirror looks like a free standing dressing mirror, but opens to reveal an exciting jewelry storage cabinet designed to hold all your jewelry pieces. It is lined with my special Silver Safekeeper lining, holds over 350 pieces of jewelry in clear view, and will keep your jewelry from tarnishing for 25 to 40 years. It locks with a key and takes up almost no floor space.

A mirror and jewelry cabinet all in one!! Choice of white, oak, or cherry.

While this is on her web site, it is available for purchase through QVC.com, which sells lots of her jewelry and other storage products. What a wonderful way to keep the tarnish down on your silver too!

Jewelry Council Heads for TV

Big news jewelry lovers – The Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council (JCOC) is heading to the big screen, at least that of our computer screen, to continue spreading the word on jewelry and watches. Along with becoming part of the video age versus just the Internet wave, they are also going to start a sort of social networking program allowing viewer to participate .

Here's the full scoop from a press release I just received:

At JCOC.TV (www.jcoc.tv) consumers will watch educational, entertaining insider videos about gems, jewelry and watches from experts in the industry around the world and have the ability to ask questions and learn from those same experts.

Companies and organizations in the gem, jewelry and watch trade will post educational and entertaining video for consumers to view and ask questions about at JCOC.TV (www.jcoc.tv).

[...] At JCOC.TV (www.jcoc.tv) members of the trade will also learn more about what consumers think about their product, where they will buy it and what they will pay for it through targeted market intelligence collection points.

Jewelry, gem and watch brands trying to reach targeted consumers will be provided customized advertising and content positioning opportunities at JCOC.TV (www.jcoc.tv).

This is just started, so you won't see but a few videos on the above URL, but I think this is pretty exciting for those of us in the jewelry world.

Michal Golan Byzantine Jewelry

If you love to lavish yourself with the occasional elaborate jewelry assemble, and you also enjoy a lot of color in your jewelry collection, then the work of Israel-born jewelry designer Michal Golan will probably appeal to you.

Pictured are an assortment of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and more from her Pearl Blossoms Collection, a mixture of Byzantine influence and incorporating 24k gold-plated brass, Swarovski crystals, and enamel.

Obviously, you wouldn't wear all these pieces together, but a select few would look perfect with that little black dress.

Jewelry Gets the Bag

Jewelry Gets the Bag

Another accessory that I love are handbags. I have to admit that my purse collection is starting to rival that of my jewelry collections, so when I saw these fun handbags from Timmy Woods, I thought, "How clever!" He has combined the craftsmanship of jewelry with that of handbags.

For example, look how he's included beads on the strap of this purse, and then adorned the front flap with a palm tree embellishment, sort of like adding a special pin to a blazer's lapel.

Then there's this sparkling crystal bag of a mermaid. You so won't be missed with this dangling from your shoulder.

This bag is loaded with crystals as well plus a wonderful beaded strap that has the look of a necklace.

Wow Wee Watches

Wow Wee Watches

Nothing says "class" like a classy time piece. Granted, these puppies aren't cheap. A good time piece usually means a pretty good price tag to boot, but it also usually means workmanship and quality that will last practically forever.

Go over to Goldarths.com for a new article on watches, Stars in the Making:

The Double Tourbillon 30° was a much-admired watch from the respected pair of watchmakers, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey. To honor this creation, and simultaneously raise the bar further in the field of haute horlogerie, the duo have designed the Invention Piece 1. Still featuring a canted double tourbillon cage, the new design has been refined with a new placement on the dial, within the hour and minute display. All the while, the outer tourbillon cage rotates in a four-minute circle, while the inner one does so in just one minute. The incomparable Invention Piece 1 is available in just three versions of 11 watches each, in red, white, or yellow gold case.
