The Classic Gold Chain

The classic gold chain has become de rigueur in the fashion world. Nearly everything I wear requires some kind of necklace and, as accessories go, the gold chain is the most flexible thing in my jewelry box.

The only problem for me is finding the right one. I have several imperfect models including one that tangles up because it's too delicate and one from a flea market that borders on gaudy.

What I need is a nice, classic gold chain. And I'm sure I can have one too, for a mere $300.00. The only trouble is that this week I'm not in the mood to spend, so I'll have to make due with the $135.00 version I found at the Metropolitan Museum Store.

Their Spanish Openwork Necklace is 36" long. It's temporarily backordered (that never deters me: I can exercise patience when required), I hope due to popularity, because I think it's a classic.

What a lovely piece. Classy and elegant. This is a nice piece to add to any collection. Thanks for bringing it to my attention with this post. I have such a weakness for fine jewelry, I just may have to place on order on this one!

My wife Fabiana designed jewelry and built 5 stores in Rio de Janeiro completely from from her own ideas and soap opera actresses wore her designs when she was 17. Now she is in the USA and bored. If you would like her to create something, she is bored stiff here in Maine. Ask her to make something for you. I am not soliciting business, I am trying to keep her busy, haha. She wouldn’t charge much probably, and in the fashion world they were starting to use the word “commissioned” to describe her creations for people.

    Lauren,

I resonate with you, as I wear a gold chain with almost every outfit…it is the accessory to have ;)
