Spoon Jewelry to Swoon Over

To be able to find your passion, turn it into a successful business, while also over coming other challenges in your life is not an easy thing to do. However, Karin Collins from Spoonfed Art some how managed to do just that.

When looking at her web site, I couldn't help be be struck by two things – her jewelry and her story. To have an even better appreciation for her jewelry, her story is important, and one that I think many women can relate too:

In January 2004, after a few major life changes, Karin decided to leave her job to pursue a more fulfilling career. Just prior to resigning, Karin had begun fashioning pendants out of spoons as a means of therapy for an eating disorder. "It was the first time I had allowed myself a real creative outlet and it made life better. I made the pendants for myself, but every time I wore one I was amazed at the amount of compliments I received." So when a friend suggested that she start a business, Karin decided to give it a try… and SpoonFed Art was born.

I know that for me food issues are a constant battle, so I love the idea of incorporating spoons into jewelry. The pendants make a statement, but they also are beautiful pieces of collage-style art, so they aren't just some gimmick. They also can be worn on a key chain or would make nice purse charms.

As an added bonus, SpoonFed Art is offering a first-time-ever 10% Off Sale during the entire month of August.
